Marie Mc Court

Introduction

Marie Mc Court is a French-Danish writer and director based both in Paris and Brussels. Her graduation film, I was still there when you left me, shot with first time actors, won an Oscar and was shortlisted at the BAFTA. In 2021 she launched an all-women’s casting directors collective called E19casting.

Marie is inspired by the people she meets during street castings and often uses those encounters to incorporate details of reality into her work. Her epic character-driven movies immerse the viewers in stories that mix sensationalism and realism. She is now developing her short film into a feature movie, and her main career goal is to direct disaster movies for major film studios.
